the Note from the Museum
(The Forks of the Yadkin and Davie County History Museum mission is to interpret and preserve the history and culture of the Carolina Backcountry, 1750 to present, using the artifacts, historic structures, farms, and documents of Davie County and surrounding region. Furthermore seeks a monumental objective to create and maintain a research facility housing this amazing history.  To accomplish this result the late Dwight L. Myers met with and supported the goals of this museum back in 2005. He joins with many in Davie County whom have strived for years to establish a museum chronicling the incredible history spanning nearly 250 years. It's a marvel that America's westward migration began here on the heels Daniel Boone and through the ministry of famed Baptist Minister John Gano the first Chaplain of the Continental Congress whom gave the last sermon to General George Washington and the Continental Army helped to shape the regions religious attributes. This was only the beginning of Davie's contribution to America. Across the battlefields of the Civil War Davie residents lead the way and in World War II one resident Colonel Thomas Ferebee  brought the war to an end. In devotion to the museum and the residents of this county Dwight Myers area farmer, veteran and inventor of the Water Boggan has made a great contribution and through this auction proceeds will be used to further its goals. Come join members of the museum committee and participate in the chance to help the future history of Davie County.)
